Position Summary
SRG is seeking a Senior Environmental Professional to lead multidisciplinary environmental programs across Western and Northern Canada. The role supports mining, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, renewable energy, gas, and land-development projects through environmental planning, permitting, assessment, compliance, construction monitoring, wetland and habitat studies, reclamation, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead environmental planning, permitting, assessment, compliance, and construction monitoring programs.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, technical quality, deliverables, safety, and client expectations.
- Direct wetland delineations, aquatic and terrestrial habitat assessments, wildlife and species-at-risk surveys, water-quality monitoring, fish salvage, and reclamation programs.
- Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Protection Plans, mitigation measures, corrective actions, and erosion and sediment control programs.
- Prepare and review assessments, permit applications, management plans, inspection records, compliance reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Provide senior technical oversight and quality assurance for field programs, environmental audits, and monitoring deliverables.
- Liaise with clients, regulators, Indigenous Nations and Communities, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor environmental staff and support proposals, business development, strategic planning, and client relationships.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, environmental science, ecology, fisheries, reclamation science, natural resource management, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional biologist or equivalent environmental professional with significant hands-on experience.
- Eight to ten years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, management, construction monitoring, permitting, or regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership of environmental programs for mining, infrastructure, utilities, energy, transportation, or major construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Western Canadian environmental legislation, permitting, protection practices, and reclamation principles.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver safe, technically sound projects on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, stakeholder-engagement, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to remote locations across Western and Northern Canada.

Professional Credentials
Professional registration, or eligibility for registration, in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Yukon is preferred. Relevant credentials include:
- P.Biol. (Alberta) or R.P.Bio. (British Columbia)
- P.Ag. (British Columbia, Alberta, or Saskatchewan)
- CPESC or CAN-CISEC
- Environmental Professional (EP)

Work Environment
- Hybrid and field-based work, with regular travel to remote sites, industrial facilities, mines, infrastructure projects, and construction sites.
- Extended field assignments and longer workdays may be required to meet project and client schedules.
- Ability to carry field equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to work in a safety sensitive environment (i.e. pre-access D&A, familiarity with field-level project documentation, etc.)
