About this role
Job Purpose:
- The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at LifeStream Behavioral Center is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients within the facility. This role involves working in a pool capacity, requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of the center. The LPN will support the healthcare team in delivering comprehensive care to individuals with behavioral health needs, ensuring patient safety and promoting overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
- Monitor patient health by assessing vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes of patients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Provide patient education and support, addressing any questions or concerns regarding their treatment and care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting care provided and any significant changes in patient status.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
- Support the overall mission and values of LifeStream Behavioral Center by promoting a positive and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Current LPN license in the state of practice.
Required Experience:
- 0-3 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience working in a pool or flexible staffing environment is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Excellent patient care and assessment skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Ability to adapt to varying work environments and schedules.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
