### Senior Azure Engineer
Role Overview We're looking for a Senior Azure Engineer to design and build app-to-app integration solutions using Azure Event Hub. This role centers on implementing event-driven, Kafka-style streaming architecture within the Azure ecosystem, so hands-on Kafka experience (or Kafka-equivalent messaging patterns) is essential even though the production platform is Event Hub. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain app-to-app integration pipelines using Azure Event Hub as the core messaging backbone
- Apply Kafka concepts and patterns (topics/partitions, consumer groups, producer/consumer design, offset management) to Event Hub's Kafka-compatible interface
- Develop and optimize producer/consumer applications, primarily in Python
- Work across the broader Azure ecosystem (e.g., Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics) to build reliable, scalable integration solutions
- Troubleshoot latency, throughput, and reliability issues in real-time streaming pipelines
- Collaborate with application teams to define integration contracts, schemas, and event design standards
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and error-handling strategies for event-driven systems
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure
- Proven experience implementing Kafka (or Kafka-based architectures) — Event Hub's Kafka protocol experience is a strong plus
- Strong programming background, particularly in Python (production-grade code, not just scripting)
- Solid understanding of event-driven architecture and app-to-app integration patterns
- Experience with Azure Event Hub, Azure Functions, or similar Azure messaging/compute services
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Azure DevOps, Terraform/Bicep, etc.) is a plus
- Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills for distributed, real-time systems
