Location: Enrollment Management/Admissions
Hours: Temporary, hourly

Job Summary: The Lobby Receptionist serves campus guests, residents, faculty, and staff; attends to general campus inquiries (face to face and on the phone); and provides administrative support to Enrollment Management/Admissions. As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for the university. The receptionist always maintains an outgoing and engaging demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- As the lobby host, be proactively present both physically and mentally to create a welcoming space. Engaging guests, students, and staff in your space is the first step to meeting their needs.

- Always maintains a professional personal presentation & appearance.

- Maintains a safe & clean lobby and the public areas of Wright Hall.

- Serve as an integral element of the undergraduate recruitment communication plan.

- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls on the main university number while providing basic information when needed.

- Receive and alert the recipient or department (Call, IM, or Email) for courier deliveries.

- Assist in clerical maintenance of prospective student management system (Slate).

- Assist with ViewSouthern, PreviewSouthern, and other events hosted by the Enrollment Management Office.

- Back-up Call Center Manager as necessary.

- Crosstrain in other areas of Enrollment Management.

Qualifications:
Must demonstrate track record of effective guest service and interpersonal communication; be organized and attentive to detail; be flexible between guests on the phone and in person; be able to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure; demonstrate sound judgment.

Hours: Intermittent Temporary Employment, on an as-needed basis.

Education: High school diploma required, Associate Degree preferred.

Experience:
Proven work experience in similar roles, telephone skills, solid communication skills, both written and verbal, proficient in Microsoft Office products, empathetic listening, professionalism, customer focus, and organized.
