Shipping Operator

Position Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Hours: 9:00AM to 5:30PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday, with possible overtime necessary.

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Pulls material from inventory to prepare for outgoing shipment.

- Palletizes and wraps outgoing shipments.

- Apply/remove product labels as needed.

- Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.

- Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records.

- Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.

- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to work independently in a warehouse environment to pull correct inventory to ship.

- Basic understanding of railway, dock, and warehouse procedures.

- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Colonial Chemical is seeking a Shipping Operator for it's warehouse. Must demonstrate ability to safely operate a fork truck and ability to coordinate work production for the warehouse. Must be able to safely and efficiently load and unload full truckload shipments and containers.
