About this role

Position Overview:

We are currently recruiting recent graduates from accounting or commerce programs to join our Property Management division as Accounting Associates. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial real estate accounting while working closely with our experienced team members. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Associate will be part of a structured career program designed to cultivate the skills and knowledge necessary to advance within the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks such as approving accounts payable, bank reconciliations, HST filing, expense tracking and tenant billing.

- Banking for bill payments and special deposit requests.

- Collaborate with Property Management and Leasing Teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and

- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and budgets for various properties within our portfolio.

- Paper filing and boxing documents.

- Document and maintain of department Accounting Procedures

Career Progression:

The Accounting Associate position serves as the first step in our career advancement program. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress to Senior Associate role and ultimately become a Property Accountant; a respected professional in the field of commercial real estate accounting, within three years.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field from an accredited

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office

- Excellent communication and interpersonal

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Prior experience in accounting or commercial real estate is not required but considered an asset.
