Role and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance for:
HVAC and water filter replacement.
- Plumbing and lighting maintenance and minor repairs.
- Door hardware maintenance and repairs.
- And Vehicle maintenance.
- Preserve facilities and grounds:
Ensure the building's interior and exterior are well maintained.
- Perform minor construction tasks such as drywall repair and painting.
- Pressure washing of buildings and hardscapes.
- Blow off drives and walks.
- Remove snow across campus sidewalks and drives.
- Proactively inspect systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they cause service interruptions or require costly repairs.
- Assist the custodial staff when needed.
- Performing other general tasks
Move office and classroom furniture.
- Set up for internal and external events.
- Respond to daily maintenance requests.
- Maintaining accurate records of facilities supplies, tools, and equipment; coordinate with the Facilities Manager to restock materials as needed.
- Reporting safety concerns, including, but not limited to, facilities, students, faculty, staff, parents, and unknown individuals.
- Attending meetings and training sessions as directed.
- Performing any additional duties with the approval and direction of the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
Skills, Qualifications, and Attributes
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years' experience in facilities maintenance.
- Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used in facilities maintenance.
- Must possess the ability to safely operate basic power and hand tools.
- Must possess the ability to complete basic maintenance and repair tasks in the safest and most effective manner.
- Be willing to respond to after-hours emergencies.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, fire, and safety rules and regulations.
- Interact with students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Criminal background check and clearance required.
Physical Requirements
- Job frequently requires standing, walking, and handling objects with hands.
- Job occasionally requires reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Some work performed outside may require exposure to changing weather conditions.
