Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, bilingual,  accurate, and detail-oriented Order Picker / Material Handler to join our Distribution Center team. This position is responsible for accurately picking, packing, strapping, staging, and shipping both small-pack customer orders and larger stock/LTL orders.
This role requires an individual who understands that accuracy and quality are more important than simply moving product quickly. The successful candidate will take pride in completing work correctly the first time, properly protecting products for shipment, and following established processes without taking shortcuts.
Dependability, accuracy, attention to detail, accountability, and integrity are essential requirements for this position.
Schedule
Monday through Friday
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Regular and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position. Candidates must have dependable transportation and be able to consistently report to work and be ready to begin working at the scheduled 6:00 AM start time.
Compensation
Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour
Starting and future compensation may be dependent upon relevant experience, demonstrated performance, dependability, accuracy, productivity, and overall contribution to the operation.
Primary Responsibilities Accurately pick customer orders using handheld scanners and established warehouse processes. Verify part numbers, quantities, and product condition during the picking process. Pick and process both small-pack orders and larger stock orders. Properly pack products to protect them from damage during transportation. Never take shortcuts when packaging customer orders. Strap, wrap, label, and prepare pallets for outbound shipment. Stage completed orders in the appropriate outbound shipping areas. Prepare small-pack orders for shipment. Assist with the preparation and booking of LTL shipments. Create and verify Bills of Lading (BOLs) and pallet/shipping labels. Verify orders prior to shipment to ensure the correct products and quantities are being shipped. Inspect products for damage, defects, missing components, or other abnormalities. Immediately report damaged, questionable, mislabeled, or incorrect products to a Lead or Supervisor. Safely move products between storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping areas. Handle company inventory and customer products with care. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, including when working independently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all Distribution Center safety policies and procedures. Assist with inventory verification, cycle counts, replenishment, and other warehouse responsibilities as needed.
Systems and Technology
This position utilizes warehouse technology and systems as part of the daily order fulfillment and shipping process, including: ShipHawk – Shipping and order processing JDE (JD Edwards) – ERP and order/inventory processing Handheld Scanners – Order picking and inventory transactions Shipping systems for small-pack and LTL order processing BOL and pallet label creation
Previous experience with ShipHawk or JDE is preferred but not required. Candidates must be comfortable learning and consistently following system-based warehouse processes.
 
Preferred Experience Bilingual preferred Previous Order Picker experience is preferred. Previous warehouse, shipping, material handling, or distribution experience. Experience picking orders using handheld scanners. Experience picking and packing small-package shipments. Experience preparing and shipping palletized stock orders. Experience booking LTL freight shipments. Experience creating and reviewing Bills of Lading (BOLs). Experience creating pallet and shipping labels. Experience with ShipHawk, JDE, or similar WMS/ERP/shipping systems is a plus. Experience operating warehouse material-handling equipment is preferred. Forklift, dock stocker, stand-up reach truck, or order picker experience is a plus.

Work Environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull products and materials as required. Ability to safely perform repetitive picking, packing, and material-handling activities. Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may not be climate controlled and may be hot during the summer and cold during the winter. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment after completing required training and certification.
