Position and Location:

Our Old Brooklyn Childcare Center, located at 4142 Pearl Rd in Cleveland, Ohio, is hiring an afternoon school-age teacher assistant. Apply today if you have experience working with school age children.

Hours:

School Age Teacher Assistant. Hours are 12pm to 6pm Monday through Friday.

School Age Teacher Assistant Wage Information : Full-time hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Pay Rate Range: $14.00 to 15.50 per hour.

CPL 1 $14.00 per hour / CPL 2 and up $15.50 per hour

Reports to : Center Director

Job Description:

- Homework assistance in one-on-one and small group settings; check work and ensure completion if possible

- Plan and/or implement engaging age-appropriate lesson plans for classroom activities and clubs

- Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices

- Work independently with a group of children with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director

- Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit

- Manage a classroom environment that is fun and engaging

- Complete and document services provided, such as progress reports, attendance screenings, and assessments as required

- Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required

- May be required to assist with center transportation plans

- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information

- All other duties as needed/assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a school age setting are required; degree or willingness to obtain a School Age Endorsement though the state is preferred

- Experience in a classroom setting and with school age children is preferred

- Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends

- Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required

- We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children

- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required

- Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required
