Role Overview
As an Optometric Assistant Apprentice, you will play a vital role in supporting our Doctors of Optometry by performing preliminary testing for comprehensive eye exams and contact lens care. You will participate in a specialized 12-month paid training program recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL) to prepare for the Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) certification, ensuring you are well-equipped to provide exceptional patient care.

What You Will Do
- Perform preliminary testing for comprehensive eye exams under the guidance of Doctors of Optometry.
- Assist in contact lens care and fittings as directed by optometrists.
- Accurately enter patient information into electronic medical records.
- Participate in a 12-month Optometric Assistant Apprenticeship Program recognized by the DOL.
- Prepare for and attain Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) certification within the designated timeframe.
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to accurately enter information in electronic medical records.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate information effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous patient care or customer service experience.
