As a Technical Operations Engineer within our Platform Services team, you will help keep a critical Claims technology platform running at its best. Working closely with engineers, delivery teams and business stakeholders, you'll support production operations, troubleshoot complex issues and deliver improvements that enhance platform reliability, efficiency and customer outcomes.

Beyond operational support, you'll play an important role in driving automation, improving technology controls and strengthening governance practices to build a more resilient and dependable technology environment.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) or  Naarm (Melbourne)

What You'll Do

- Provide Level 2 production support, incident resolution and service request management to ensure platform stability and availability.
- Monitor, maintain and optimise application performance, resilience and operational health across production environments.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, defects and root causes through analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to support releases, deployments, testing and ongoing platform enhancements.
- Drive automation and AI Ops opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability and customer outcomes.
- Support production releases and major incidents, including participation in on-call and out-of-hours support activities when required.

What You'll Bring

- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment.
- Exposure to Guidewire application support or similar insurance platforms.
- Technical skills across Python, Java, Gosu and SQL.
- Experience using monitoring and operational tools such as DataDog, New Relic, Splunk and ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
- Understanding of ITIL Service Management and support processes.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of AI Ops, automation and observability platforms.
