On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Procurement Officer (Inside IR35) for a hybrid contract based out of Bristol to run up until 31/3/27.
The successful candidate will have an expectation to be in the office x2 days per week and the remainder working from home.

As a Procurement Officer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Design and implement autonomous , repeatable sourcing processes aligned to commercial policies and controls .
- Deliver guided buying journeys and digital procurement solutions ready for operational deployment.
- Drive faster, more consistent sourcing activities with controlled supplier access.
- Monitor and report on benefits, compliance, risk and performance metrics through effective management information.
- Develop sourcing strategies, process designs and implementation plans for autonomous procurement solutions.
- Identify and assess use cases for one-off purchases and supplier onboarding .
- Support the design, testing and adoption of automation, guided buying and digital user interfaces .
- Collaborate with Commercial, Digital, Finance and operational teams to deliver solutions.
- Track delivery progress, compliance, risks and benefits, escalating issues and recommending corrective actions where required.
PLEASE NOTE: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
Essential:
- Proven experience in commercial sourcing, procurement transformation and route-to-market delivery .
- Strong ability to analyse and optimise processes , identifying opportunities for automation and guided buying.
- Skilled in translating commercial policies into practical, compliant user journeys and procurement solutions .
- Excellent stakeholder management , implementation planning and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver at pace while maintaining governance, compliance and risk controls .
- Experience supporting digital procurement tools, user-interface improvements and sourcing automation initiatives .
- Proficient in Fairmarkit, Keelvar and Axion Solutions (essential).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks, drive improvements and implement corrective actions .
Desirable:
- Experience with digital procurement platforms, guided buying solutions, AI-enabled tools and procurement automation .
- Knowledge of J2C, ePC and low-complexity procurement processes .
- Experience managing supplier onboarding, catalogues and marketplace solutions .
- Understanding of digital sourcing and user-centric procurement journeys .
- Relevant procurement qualification, such as MCIPS , or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Proven ability to support procurement transformation and technology-driven process improvements .
- Familiarity with Defence sector procurement, commercial environments and supplier ecosystems is highly desirable.
