We are currently creating a pipeline for an upcoming opportunity with the AWE , for a HR Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a hybrid contract to run up until 31/3/27 based out of Reading.

Please note the successful candidate will have an expectation of 3 days per week in the office and the second week will be 2 days per week and the office and the remainder will be working from home.

AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. As a HR Project Manager , your main responsibilities will be:

- Review and assess active HR projects, identifying priorities, risks, dependencies and next steps.
- Drive project delivery by coordinating activity and maintaining momentum across the HRBP community.
- Provide governance, project control and benefits realisation support, ensuring actions are tracked and evidenced.
- Enable and challenge HR Business Partners to take ownership and deliver agreed outcomes.
- Coordinate workforce planning and people-related activity to meet project and programme objectives .
- Identify blockers, risks and interdependencies, implementing interventions to keep delivery on track.
- Manage and align activity across multiple concurrent HR projects within a wider transformation programme.
- Act as the central point of coordination, ensuring consistent progress, accountability and stakeholder engagement.

PLEASE NOTE: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

Essential:

- Proven project management experience within HR, People or workforce transformation environments.
- Experience leading people-focused workstreams through organisational change, relocation or cultural transformation.
- Strong governance, coordination and programme support expertise .
- Ability to translate governance requirements into clear, actionable plans for HR teams.
- Confident providing direction, challenge and support to HR Business Partners to drive delivery.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage complex detail in regulated environments.
- Skilled at coordinating multiple workstreams and aligning activity across large programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management , communication and influencing skills.
- Able to adapt communication style to different audiences and situations.
- Experience leading and coordinating dispersed or remote HR teams to maintain momentum and delivery.

- CIPD Qualified
