Job Overview

We are seeking an Insurance Claims Officer – Marine, Property, Motor & Liability to manage claims from notification through assessment, settlement and closure. The role covers policy review, stakeholder coordination and compliant, efficient claims handling.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive, register and acknowledge marine, property, motor and liability claims.
- Review policies, endorsements, limits, exclusions and deductibles.
- Gather and verify statements, photographs, reports, invoices, estimates and other supporting documents.
- Assess claim validity, quantum and liability within policy terms and authority limits.
- Coordinate with insured parties, brokers, insurers, surveyors, loss adjusters, investigators, repairers, legal representatives and service providers.
- Process cargo, vessel, property, motor accident, third-party liability, personal injury and related claims.
- Review repair quotations, replacement costs, settlements, salvage and recovery opportunities.
- Prepare evaluations, reserves, settlement documents, payment requests and closure recommendations.
- Prepare claims reports, management information and ageing analysis.
- Ensure compliance with policy terms, procedures, regulations and data protection requirements.
- Support audits, reconciliations, reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree, higher diploma or relevant qualification in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience as an Insurance Claims Officer, Claims Executive, Claims Handler, Insurance Coordinator or similar.
- Experience handling marine, property, motor, liability, cargo or general insurance claims.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, claims procedures, loss assessment, settlements and documentation.
- Understanding of marine cargo and hull, property, motor accident and third-party liability claims is preferred.
- Ability to interpret policy wording, endorsements, exclusions, schedules and claim documents.
- Experience coordinating with adjusters, surveyors, garages, repairers, brokers, insurers and other parties.
