On behalf of The Government Property Agency, we are looking for an Assistant Workplace Services Manager for a 6 Month contract based in London (fully on-site) .
The Government Property Agency is an Executive Agency of the cabinet office. It is changing the way the Civil Service works and is at the forefront of Government's transformation agenda; reshaping the relationship civil servants have with their place of work. The Agency is central to the delivery of key Government policies including moving 22,000 Civil Service roles out of London by 2030 and tackling climate change by contributing to the Net Zero agenda. To do this we are delivering a major change programme across the UK and consolidating our portfolio in order to save £1.4 Bn over 10 years.

PLEASE NOTE: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As a Assistant Workplace Services Manager , your main responsibilities will be:
- Manage workplace services operations, supplier performance, audits, service delivery standards, and compliance with health & safety, procurement, and value-for-money requirements.
- Oversee budgets, delegated spend, rechargeable works, and reactive/project expenditure, ensuring strong governance, cost control , and accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct site visits, annual property audits, supplier performance reviews, and issue resolution, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where required.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, incident management , and stakeholder liaison, escalating issues appropriately and supporting FOI and information requests.
- Maintain service records, trackers, contractual documentation, and management information to support audit, assurance, reporting, and continuous service improvement.
- Deliver minor works, workplace change initiatives , and property improvement projects while coordinating with landlords, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to drive efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Essential:
- Experienced property and workplace services professional with strong knowledge of asset management , maintenance, customer service, and supplier management .
- Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret and utilise multiple data sources to support effective decision -making.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and team-working skills, with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.
- Confident and persuasive influencer, capable of articulating clear arguments and gaining support for key initiatives and decisions .
- Flexible and willing to travel across the region (and occasionally nationally), including to locations not easily accessible by public transport.
- Innovative and commercially aware professional with experience working in cross-functional and matrix environments, supported by FM/property expertise , stakeholder management skills, professional development, and contract management awareness.
