Position Overview

Sofidel America, a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, is a leading manufacturer of tissue paper products for hygienic and household use. We are currently seeking a Quality Laboratory Assistant to join our team. We are looking for a detail oriented professional who is interested in a long term opportunity with a stable and growing organization.

As a Quality Laboratory Assistant, you will support quality assurance activities by performing laboratory testing, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure products meet Sofidel America's quality standards and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities

- Test raw materials, finished products, and competitor products against established specifications to determine conformance.

- Release or reject raw materials based on specified requirements.

- Operate quality testing equipment necessary to perform job duties.

- Enter all test findings into SAP and other established data collection software.

- Report results of raw material and finished product testing to relevant personnel.

- Assist employees and temporary workers in identifying and reporting quality issues.

- Process non-conforming raw materials and finished products, and communicate findings according to established procedures.

- Test competing products using accepted methods and enter data into SAP.

- Perform routine internal calibration procedures as required.

- Utilize new testing procedures and lab equipment following training.

- Serve as a representative for the quality team, promoting the value of quality and professionalism.

- Foster a team environment where customer satisfaction is supported by production, quality, sales, logistics, and customer service.

- Act as a deputy for the Quality Manager in their absence, as needed.

- Cover colleague absences or vacations on an overtime basis.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office, SAP, and statistical software.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality or procedural manuals.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and procedures is preferred.
