Sales Manager Responsibilities

- Lead, motivate, and provide clear direction for the sales team

- Coach and develop sales associates to improve performance and advance their careers

- Work directly with employees and customers to build strong, long-term relationships

- Create an exceptional and transparent customer experience

- Train and support the sales team throughout the sales process

- Assist with deal structure and closing opportunities

- Manage departmental productivity, performance, and accountability

- Conduct regular sales meetings and ongoing training

- Monitor key sales metrics and identify opportunities for improvement

- Work closely with dealership leadership to achieve sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals

- Lead by example and help build a culture of teamwork, urgency, integrity, and continuous improvement

What Winning Looks Like

Success in this role isnt just about selling more cars. A great Sales Manager builds a department that performs consistently and gets better over time.

Youll be expected to:

- Grow new and used vehicle sales and market share

- Improve closing ratios across showroom, phone, and internet opportunities

- Maintain strong front-end gross while balancing volume and customer experience

- Drive consistent F&I opportunities through a disciplined sales process

- Ensure leads are responded to quickly and professionally

- Improve appointment set, confirmation, show, and sold rates

- Recruit, train, coach, and retain high-performing salespeople

- Use dealership data and daily performance metrics to identify problems and opportunities

- Maintain strong CRM discipline and follow-up throughout the department

- Deliver excellent customer satisfaction and protect the dealerships reputation

- Build a culture where people are accountable to one another and genuinely work as a team

What Were Looking For

- Previous automotive dealership management experience

- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a sales team

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

- High energy, positive attitude, and strong work ethic

- Team-first leadership mentality

- Ability to hold people accountable while helping them succeed

- Strong understanding of dealership sales processes and performance metrics

- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record

- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening
