SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Packaging Intern is a critical knowledge worker at Rocket Industrial, acting as both a solutions consultant to our sales staff and customers, and the curator of appropriate solutions. This individual will provide technical expertise to the sales team by identifying, designing, testing, and presenting custom solutions to our customers. Alongside communicating with our sales reps, this role will also directly communicate with clients. The Packaging Engineer will have a thorough understanding of the competition and how we can best differentiate ourselves.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Following and learning various testing methodologies.
- Design, Test and Develop New Packaging Systems
- Assisting with new industrial & retail packaging designs and concepts
- Work with multiple vendors and materials. Multiple vendor evaluations.
- Helping to develop new product offerings, vendor relationships and assisting with the development of current vendor relationships
- Supporting sales growth in all current product categories
- Assisting to help determine most efficient and optimal packaging solutions for current and prospective customers.
- Key Performance Indicators and Additional Expectations:
Percentage of lab reports assigned delivered on time
- Percentage of new packaging designs proposed delivered on time
- $20,000 revenue generation from assigned projects over a 6 month period
- $15,000 added in company profit margin over a 6 month period
- Minimum of 12 end user calls
- Positive customer satisfaction
- Responsiveness Score
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Enrollment in a Packaging degree program
- Demonstrate fundamental understanding of packaging materials and testing procedures
