- Salary: $150,000/year

- Schedule: 9AM-5PM, Monday - Friday

- Location: 120-34 Queens Blvd, Suite 410 in Kew Gardens, NY or 1020 Grand Concourse North Professional Wing in Bronx, NY

What drives the core purpose of this job :

The Psychologist conducts complex clinical, psychological, and forensic assessments for justice-involved individuals referred through the Jail Population Review initiative. The position provides diagnostic formulation, psychological testing when clinically indicated, specialized assessment, and treatment recommendations to inform court decision-making and support consideration for Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) programs.

What are the key responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive clinical, psychological, and forensic evaluations of incarcerated individuals referred for ATI consideration.

- Assess psychiatric, substance use, psychosocial, cognitive, and behavioral functioning based on the referral questions and clinical presentation.

- Conduct clinical interviews and develop psychosocial histories, diagnostic formulations, and treatment recommendations.

- Determine the appropriate scope of evaluation and administer, score, and interpret psychological testing when clinically indicated.

- Conduct or contribute to complex evaluations, including cognitive and violence risk assessments, when appropriate or requested.

- Review and integrate collateral information, including medical records, correctional health information, legal documents, criminal history, treatment records, and other relevant documentation.

- Prepare clear, defensible, and timely reports that address relevant history, clinical formulation, treatment needs, level of care, and community-based treatment recommendations.

- Complete evaluations within required program timeframes, generally 3 weeks for standard assessments and up to 6 weeks for complex cases.

- Provide consultation regarding complex cases, diagnostic questions, assessment needs, and treatment planning.

- Participate in case conferences, interdisciplinary review, and quality assurance activities.

- Coordinate with staff, attorneys, correctional contacts, and other stakeholders as needed to complete assessments.

- Support warm handoffs to EAC Network ATI and case management programs when individuals are accepted for services.

- Maintain complete and audit-ready records in accordance with professional, ethical, confidentiality, agency, regulatory, and program requirements.

- Maintain productivity expectations consistent with contractual requirements and program volume.

- Perform other duties as assigned

What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:

- Ability to conduct time-sensitive psychological and forensic evaluations within court-driven deadlines.

- Ability to translate clinical findings into clear, defensible, and court-informed recommendations.

- Proficiency in administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological testing instruments when clinically indicated.

- Knowledge of justice-involved populations and behavioral health needs within correctional, diversion, and community settings.

- Ability to synthesize complex clinical and collateral information into structured reports and treatment recommendations.

- Knowledge of diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, risk assessment, and appropriate levels of care.

- Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including court-facing documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited program required.

- Current New York State license as a Psychologist required.

- Experience conducting psychological evaluations, clinical assessments, and diagnostic formulation required.

- Experience administering and interpreting psychological testing required.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with justice-involved or incarcerated populations.

- Experience in forensic psychology, ATI, court-based behavioral health, mental health diversion, or correctional settings.

- Experience conducting cognitive, violence risk, or other specialized assessments.

- Strong clinical assessment and report-writing skills
