POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Merchandiser- Antiques is responsible for developing and implementing a merchandise strategy that aligns with GraceWorks mission and drives revenue. Effectively manages inventory to ensure optimal product availability. Coordinates research, pricing and merchandising with designated volunteers and staff. Actively solicits and incorporates customer engagement and feedback to enhance shopper satisfaction.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Conduct market research and price antiques. Assist processing team and volunteers with product selection.
- Effectively collaborate with Team Members to ensure merchandise aligns with GraceWorks values.
- Work with retail and processing leadership to plan antique/collectibles displays, promotions, seasonality and maintain a system for managing inventory levels and re-stocking points.
- Regularly monitor sales data to adjust inventory levels and re-stocking points to ensure retail sales space remains fresh and well stocked.
- Coordinate with Processing to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
- Assist the retail and processing teams with other functions as needed.
- Respond to customer inquiries and concerns regarding merchandise offered promptly to build trust.
- Adapt merchandise strategy for the antiques and collectables department based on customer interests and feedback to enhance satisfaction.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteers that specialize in Antiques and Collectibles (Dolls, China, Etc.)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required; Processing and Retail experience required.
OTHER SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication across functions and departments, with a diverse range of individuals.
- Successful experience with product positioning and merchandising.
- Highly developed organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Experience with both Processing and Retail procedures and challenges.
- Product knowledge for the specific department is required.
- Demonstrated initiative to develop and implement original ideas.
- Able to actively solicit input from customers, volunteers and Team Members and incorporate feedback into strategy development.
- Good judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and multiple demands in support of retail and processing areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is in a retail/warehouse setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts that require standard safety precautions. May encounter hot working conditions, based on the season.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
