Laser Operator – Night Shift

Direct Mail Solutions (DMS), a leading full-service mail and logistics company based in Richmond, VA, is looking for a reliable and detail-focused Laser Operator to join our Production team. Pay: $18.00-$20.00/Hourly

Position Overview: As a Laser Operator, you'll play an important role in the production process by setting up and operating continuous printers . This full-time, production-based role focuses on efficiently running print jobs, monitoring equipment, troubleshooting issues, and supporting overall department productivity.

What You'll Do:

- Set up and operate continuous printers to complete production jobs accurately and efficiently.

- Monitor laser printers during production and identify potential issues that could impact quality, productivity, or operational status.

- Take appropriate corrective action to resolve equipment or production issues and help minimize downtime.

- Follow job specifications and production procedures to ensure accurate and high-quality output.

- Perform regular checks throughout production to ensure jobs are running properly and meet established standards.

- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production needs, equipment issues, and job status.

- Provide support in other areas as needed to help maximize overall department productivity.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

- Be flexible and available for overtime as needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working with continuous printers is preferred.

- Prior experience in the print or production industry is strongly preferred.

- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn and operate production equipment and software.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Tenacious attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.

- Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify appropriate corrective actions.

- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet deadlines.

- Must be willing and available to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Skills:

- Prior experience operating continuous printers

- Previous print, mailing, or production industry experience

- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Strong team-player mentality and work ethic

Schedule:

Night Shift: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM (Enjoy a 3-day weekend with full-time hours!) Possible overtime on Friday nights.
