Work Schedule : Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.


The Opportunity
This role is on a hybrid schedule in our Detroit office only, in office a few days weekly with some remote work.

The Consumer Loan Review team is part of Ally’s Internal Audit function and completes reviews of Ally’s various consumer credit portfolios and supporting functions with a focus on credit policies and standards, underwriting activity, and portfolio management and reporting.
The Consumer Loan Review – Analyst II role provides an opportunity to help evaluate the quality of Ally’s consumer lending decisions, challenge credit risk practices, and contribute to independent assessments that inform senior management and risk governance. This role is designed for a developing credit risk professional who wants to build deeper expertise in consumer lending, independent review, analytics, and risk governance.


The Work Itself

- Learn Ally's Consumer Loan Review approach, methodology and tools/technology.
- Assist in the development of review scopes and testing attributes for consumer loan review projects.
- Execute and document assigned test procedures related to credit strategy, underwriting, portfolio performance, etc.,
- Complete assigned testing procedures while meeting timelines for each review.
- Document workpapers in accordance with Loan Review policy and standards.
- Identify and draft issues resulting from testing including identifying root cause and risk impacts.
- Assist with the validation of issues identified during reviews to ensure management has properly remediated the associated risks.
- Maintain regular communication with Loan Review management and participate in meetings with business partners while maintaining independence.
- Develop and maintain proactive working relationships with the appropriate Business Line, Independent Risk Management, and Audit Services personnel across Ally.
- Participate in Loan Review's continuous monitoring program.
- Develop practical analytics capabilities using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, SQL, Power BI, and Python to identify credit risk trends, and support risk-based insights.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience
- 2 years of experience within a credit related role such as credit underwriting, risk management, or auditing credit / credit related processes. (Consumer automotive credit experience preferred)
- Understanding of risk management concepts and key performance drivers within consumer lending portfolios.
- Familiarity with risk and control concepts.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management skills: detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-motivated, and organized.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to learn data analytics skills and usage of associated tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Python, Excel
- Ability to occasionally travel is required (up two trips per year).

- High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Base Pay Range
$55,000.00 - $95,000.00

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.


Incentive Compensation:

This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
