About this role
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. This role performs troubleshooting, preventive
maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems including pumps, conveyors, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, boilers, and spray drying equipment.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment including pumps, conveyors, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, atomizers, dryers, and boiler systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures and determine root causes using visual inspection, testing instruments, and operational analysis.
Disassemble and repair mechanical equipment using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and lifting equipment.
Inspect and measure mechanical components using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to determine wear and repair requirements.
Fabricate or modify parts and equipment using welding, machining, and fabrication tools when necessary.
Maintain plant utilities including steam generation systems, boiler, compressed air systems, and related support equipment.
Conduct routine plant inspections and report abnormal equipment conditions to maintenance
leadership.
Assist production personnel in maintaining efficient plant operations and minimizing downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair activities to maintenance and operations teams.
Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Support plant operations by assisting with production coverage or operational needs during staffing shortages.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Position Requirements:
Industrial Maintenance Certificate or equivalent mechanical maintenance experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance preferred
Experience maintaining industrial or food processing equipment
Welding skills including MIG, TIG, Arc, and sanitary welding
Ability to fabricate and modify mechanical components
Knowledge of pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, bearings, seals, and conveyors
Basic knowledge of electrical controls and troubleshooting
Experience working with steam systems and boilers preferred
Forklift certification
Ability to read technical drawings, diagrams, and equipment manuals
Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation
Ability to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, heat, steam systems, and industrial processing areas.
Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and elevated work areas.

Participate in safety training and continuous improvement of plant safety practices. Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $28.00 - $28.00 Per Hour
