About this role

Job Purpose:
- The Press Operator at JOHNS BYRNE CO is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure efficient production processes and meet client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Monitor print runs to ensure quality standards are met, making adjustments as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and printing issues to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of print jobs.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and address any production challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including materials used and job completion times.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency in press operations.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Press Operator in a manufacturing or printing environment.
- Proven track record of operating and maintaining printing presses, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues related to press operations.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of press operations, including setup, adjustment, and maintenance of printing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret job orders and specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment to ensure print quality and alignment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and address operational issues.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required.
