PrideStaff - Greenville is seeking an experienced, analytical, and tech-savvy Heat Treat Technician for an industry-leading manufacturing facility in the Fountain Inn, SC area .

In this advanced technical role, you will use cutting-edge furnace technology and industrial robotics to precisely alter the physical and chemical properties of steel (hardening, tempering, annealing, and casehardening). We are looking for a sharp, mechanically inclined professional who can interpret blueprints, run Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, and optimize furnace programs in a high-temperature manufacturing environment.

Heat Treat Technician Primary Responsibilities include:
Your main responsibility is the precise thermal processing of steel components , utilizing furnace controls, robotics, and quality testing tools to guarantee flawless product specifications. Furnace & Robotics Control: Utilize intermediate programming skills to adjust, manipulate, or troubleshoot heat treating furnaces and robotic automation cells. Process Execution: Execute precise thermal cycles (hardening, tempering, annealing) to treat steel accurately to strict tolerances; collect and apply operational data to maximize furnace efficiency. Data Entry & ERP: Input accurate processing logs, furnace data, and material status into the company ERP system; maintain clear communication via MS Teams and email. Quality & Hardness Testing: Perform rigorous quality checks, conduct hardness testing using specialized hand tools, and complete Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for all assignments. Blueprint Reading & Measurement: Read and interpret industrial engineering blueprints; utilize micrometers and calipers with a complete understanding of fractions and decimals. Material Handling & Equipment Maintenance: Operate forklifts to load/unload heavy steel from ovens and pallets; perform basic mechanical maintenance, grinding, and area cleanup. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in Lean initiatives, safety training, and cross-training across other plant departments while consistently meeting target tact times.

Heat Treat Technician Requirements include: Required Technical Background: High School Diploma or GED required; demonstrated experience in heat treating operations, thermal metallurgy, or industrial furnace programming. Robotics & Software Skills: Intermediate programming capabilities to manipulate furnace/robotic controls, along with proficiency in ERP data entry and basic MS Office (Teams/Email). Blueprint & Math Literacy: Proven ability to read industrial blueprints and perform basic shop math, including fractions and decimals. Physical Capabilities: Must be able to walk and stand for 8–12 hours per day; physical ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted (or up to 100 lbs. with team/mechanical assistance). Certifications & PPE: Forklift certified (or willing to become certified on-site); comfortable wearing all mandatory PPE in a demanding, high-temperature environment. Work Ethic & Communication: High sense of urgency, strong analytical problem-solving skills, fluent English communication (written/verbal), and a team-first attitude.
