Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility relates to the production of construction documentation and management of design projects including quality-control and participation in the construction administration of project assignments.
- Must be able to monitor multiple projects and provide operational guidance.
- Candidate should have strong communication skills and an eye for detail.
- Assure the translation of design intent into construction document.
- Candidate must have effective leadership and management skills.
- Candidate should be highly organized, creative, solution-oriented, and team-focused.
- Candidates should have strong code review, quality control and construction administration experience. Traveling in multiple states in the U.S. may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical design experience within an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) environment
- Professional Engineering registration (P.E.) required
- Proficiency with building BIM drafting software (AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit) required
- Experience creating construction documents, blueprints, and piping/ductwork layouts for HVAC, hydronic heating, chilled water, steam, and industrial plumbing systems
- Ability to perform as a lead Mechanical Engineer
- Working knowledge of core mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, machine design, fluid power fundamentals, and materials selection
- Construction support services experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with US building codes IMC, UMC, ASHRAE 90.1/62.1/62.2, IPC, IBC.
- Practical, hands-on experience and/or construction support.
- Project Management Experience
- Experience in estimating mechanical systems design
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with alternate delivery (Design-Build, CMAR/CM-GC and/or EPC projects).
- Experience in developing project level of efforts for building mechanical design.
- Experience in estimating mechanical systems cost and/or installation
