Position Summary
St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Part-time NICU Pharmacist .
Join our NICU and Women's Services team as a part-time morning pharmacist (Monday through Friday, 4 hours/day). In this role, you will work closely with neonatologists, obstetricians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, contributing to multidisciplinary rounds and providing specialized clinical pharmacy support for both neonatal and maternal patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate the appropriateness of prescribed medication therapies
- Interpret prescriptions and accurately compound and dispense medications
- Provide medication information, counseling, and consultation to patients, nurses, and medical staff
- Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services and document interventions according to medical center standards
- Administer medications and vaccinations as appropriate
- Supervise, direct, and authorize the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, externs, and support staff
- Maintain accurate records related to medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, inventory, and medical records
- Assist with training and education of technicians, interns, externs, residents, and other pharmacy staff
- Serve as a role model and mentor to students, technicians, residents, and new practitioners
Qualifications
Education
- Degree from an accredited School or College of Pharmacy (PharmD or equivalent)
Experience
- 0 years of experience required
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system is preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Pharmacist License in the state of practice (Idaho or eligible for licensure)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, through one of the following: American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI)
- American Heart Association (AHA)
- American Red Cross
