Job Summary/Objective

UDA is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and exceptional communicator to join our transportation team as a Logistics Supervisor . This position is ideal for a scheduling professional who enjoys leading people, building strong vendor relationships, solving operational challenges, and keeping transportation activities organized and efficient.

The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for leading, training, and developing a team of dispatchers , coordinating daily transportation operations, overseeing accounts payable (A/P) invoice processing, managing relationships with third-party contract carriers and vendors, and ensuring compliance with applicable DOT, state, and federal requirements.

This role plays a key part in ensuring UDA Transportation operates safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while providing excellent service to internal teams, vendors, and transportation partners.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Recruit, train, coach, and develop dispatch team members to promote accountability, efficiency, and excellent customer service.

- Establish clear expectations, work processes, and performance standards for the dispatch team.

- Monitor team performance and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and support.

- Promote effective communication and teamwork across the transportation department.

- Ensure accurate and timely communication between dispatchers, drivers, vendors, internal departments, and management.

- Assist and monitor transportation operations and proactively resolve scheduling, service, or operational issues.

- Oversee the accurate entry, review, and processing of departmental invoices.

- Maintain effective communication with vendors regarding purchase orders, services, billing, discrepancies, and invoice requirements.

- Work closely with the accounting team to support timely and accurate invoice processing and payment.

- Assist with reporting and analysis related to transportation costs, carrier expenses, and operational performance.

- Identify trends and opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs.

- Maintain organized records and documentation for audits, reporting, and operational needs.

Qualifications:
General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully:

- Ability to regularly work on weekends/after hours if required

- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills

- Comfortable with initiating professional and informative conversations, both over the phone and in-person

- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.

- Ability to seamlessly multi-task and manage multiple project and tasks

- Strong customer service experience

- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with multiple departments

- Prior experience with transportation logistics is a plus

Experience : (required)

- One (1) year of experience in administrative or clerical environment

- Two (2-3) years of logistics supervisor experience

Education/Certifications : High School Diploma, GED, or prior relevant work experience
