About this role

Job Summary/Objective

The UF Operator will provide oversight of the ultrafiltration (UF) and membrane filtration operation, ensuring membranes, equipment, and lines are operating efficiently and producing safe and quality products. Accurately handle chemicals, maintain communication with teams, and uphold SOPs and HACCP guidelines. Record activities meticulously, adhere to UDA policies, and report nonconformities. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Safety: Adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures, reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.

- Sanitation: Maintain sanitary conditions in the work area in compliance with GMP and food safety standards.

- Quality: Uphold product quality standards throughout the ultrafiltration and membrane filtration process.

- CIP all UF and membrane filtration equipment.

- Perform the startup and shutdown functions of process equipment.

- Perform CIP and process connections in the membrane processing room.

- Operate the Ultrafiltration (UF) system and associated membrane filtration equipment.

- Maintain a high level of communication with each plant/process as the job demands.

- Keep accurate and legible records.

- Adhere to all SOPs and HACCP guidelines.

- Adhere to all UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

- Other duties as required.

Physical Requirements:

- Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time.

- Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items between 20 and 55lbs often.

- Requires ability to push and pull items occasionally in excess of 55lbs.

- Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights including floors of 100ft or more.

- Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions.

- Requires ability to work in confined spaces occasionally.

- Requires ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals.

- Requires ability to safely operate equipment.

- Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.

- Requires ability to hear and speak frequently in noisy environments

Qualifications:
General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully:

- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices

- Ability to operate equipment.

- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

- Ability to multitask.

- Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize time.

- Ability to cross-train in other areas of the plant, specifically Lactose.

Experience: (required)

Knowledge of ultrafiltration/membrane filtration systems and food manufacturing process.
