POSITION S UMMARY : Greets all customers entering the restaurant in a friendly manner. Directs customers where to wait while finding a suitable table for the number of guests. Uses the POS (Point of Sale) system to enter and complete to go and room service orders. Acts as a cashier using the POS. Takes and records reservations.

E S S E NTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES in c l u d e the following,

- Greets and seats customers.

- Assigns tables to service staff.

- Keeps hostess area stocked, clean, and presentable, and takes inventory when requested.

- Cleans menus.

- Assists bussers or other restaurant employees when necessary.

- Arranges flowers in bud vases.

- Performs other job related duties as assigned.

- Takes to go and room service orders.

- Other duties may be assigned.

AUTHORITY/S UPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Q U A LIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

E DUCATION/EXPERIENCE :

- High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.

- Restaurant experience, preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

- Must provide or obtain a Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

- Basic personal computer skills.

L A NGUAGE SKILLS :

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

M A T HEMATICAL SKILLS :

- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY :

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

O T HER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

- Ab i l i t y to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).

- Mu s t be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.

- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

- Pa rticipate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.

- P rovide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

- Must be able to operate the POS (Point of Sale) system.

- Must maintain appearance to company standards.

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
