About the Role :

Great British Energy is looking for a PMO Support Officer to join our GBE Team. This role will play a key part in contributing to projects, objectives , and wider organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting PMO Leads in establishing and embedding programme and project management processes into the organisation.
- Supporting key programme and project processes including monitoring and reporting, risk & issue management , planning and governance.
- Supporting development and implementation of practical programme and project management tools, templates and guidance.
- Supporting GBE governance and programme board meetings, including organising meeting cadence, preparing pre-reads, owning action tracking, decision logs etc .
- Preparing regular progress reports on activities, including relevant risks and issues to the Project Manager , and supporting development of other project management documentation.
- Collating, formatting and distributing data to support project requirements, cascading to internal and external parties where appropriate.
- Maintaining reporting dashboards, trackers and management information products using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Power Query, SharePoint, Microsoft Project and Power Automate.
- Maintaining PMO SharePoint structure and access rights, PMO ways of working documentation and processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

You will have, or be working towards, a recognised accreditation in professional project, programme, PMO or planning practice, such as:

- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- MSP Practitioner
- Agile Project Management Practitioner
- APM Project Management Qualification
- APM Practitioner Qualification
- Planning and Scheduling Professional qualification or equivalent experience
- Microsoft Power BI, Data Analytics or Power Platform certification
- Other relevant project, planning, PMO, data or reporting qualifications.

Essential:

- Be highly organised and have experience in supporting and delivering either complex or high-risk projects or programmes within an agreed time, cost and quality constraint.
- Be adaptable when applying knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, capable of designing a project structure and organisation to meet the requirements of the project according to its point in the lifecycle.
- Be proficient in developing delivery plans for projects and programmes, ensuring that the plans include all relevant activities and milestones, and take account of risks and dependencies.
- Have practical experience in actively managing project risks and issues, able to make decisions , engage in dialogue on risk management strategy, and demonstrate a level of skill beyond simply 'managing a process'.
- Have proficiency in relevant project management and Microsoft 365 tools, such as Excel, SharePoint, Planner, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Power Query and Power Automate, with experience simplifying and automating PMO processes.
- Have a proactive stakeholder engagement approach, seeking out opportunities to effectively communicate and influence, and be used to operating with a high degree of autonomy where there is ambiguity and change in a project.
