About this role

Introduction

August Energy ("AE") is a developer and long-term owner and operator of energy infrastructure assets, helping high-quality industrial and commercial customers meet their decarbonisation goals, profitably, and at scale. We provide a comprehensive set of proven and customised energy-as-a-service ("EaaS") solutions, including renewable energy, energy storage, cooling & heating, heat recovery, compressed air and bioenergy. Headquartered in Singapore, with offices in India, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam ("Target Region"), we work with our customers across Southeast Asia and India. As we establish our Philippines footprint, we are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to own the country’s finance and accounting function end-to-end.

About the Role

• Senior Accountant / Finance Lead is expected to run PH finance independently - from books to statutory compliance to project-level financial support - reporting into the Regional Director of Finance & Accounts in Singapore.

• This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role with a clear path toward a Finance Manager / Country Finance Lead position as the PH portfolio scales.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

A. Core Accounting & Reporting

• Full-cycle bookkeeping, monthly management accounts, and month-end/year-end close.

• Cash and banking operations for the Philippines entity.

B. Tax, Statutory & Compliance

• Philippine statutory tax filings (BIR) and compliance with SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and withholding tax obligations.

• Capex accounting under PFRS/IFRS; primary point of contact for external auditors, banks and regulators.

C. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow

• Annual budget and rolling forecasts, with budget-vs-actual variance analysis.

• Cash flow forecasting and working capital monitoring.

D. Project Finance Support

• Track project-level revenue, cost and margin performance alongside the Operations team.

• Support billing milestones and collections; flag the financial impact of change orders and contractual claims.

E. Controls & Stakeholder Management

• Apply Group financial controls and the delegated authority framework to the PH entity.

• Act as the trusted local finance point of contact for the PH Country Head and the Singapore finance team.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 5–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including full ownership of month-end close and statutory compliance.

• Strong working knowledge of Philippine tax law, PFRS/IFRS, and statutory reporting (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).

• Comfortable operating independently with minimal on-the-ground supervision, reporting into an overseas HQ.

• Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent); Philippine CPA license strongly preferred.
