Position Summary
Hands-on manufacturing engineering role focused on improving production processes, supporting new product launches, and driving continuous improvement across a multi-SKU, semi-custom production environment.
This role bridges engineering and operations—owning implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing systems to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Optimization
Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and variability
Implement improvements to increase throughput, yield, and cost efficiency
Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
Manufacturing Execution & Support
Support day-to-day production by troubleshooting equipment and process issues
Monitor process performance and implement corrective actions
Maintain safe, reliable, and repeatable manufacturing systems
Collaborate with operations and quality to resolve production issues
New Product Introduction (NPI)
Support transition of new products from design into production
Assist in defining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and tooling
Partner with engineering and quality to ensure successful product launches
Tooling, Fixtures & CAD
Assist in design and fabrication of tooling, fixtures, and jigs
Use CAD to create and update drawings and layouts
Support development of efficient plant layouts and workflows
Documentation & Data Analysis
Create and maintain technical process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
Collect and analyze production data to measure performance improvements
Prepare reports on process capability, efficiency, and quality trends
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D on process improvements
Support capital equipment evaluations and justification
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required
Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of hands-on manufacturing / process engineering experience
Experience in production environments (preferably high-mix / configurable products)
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma
Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt a plus)
CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar)
Experience with tooling, fixtures, or sewn/assembly-based manufacturing
Experience with problem analysis and resolution
Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
Requires good leadership skills and communication skills
Ability to recommend and implement improvements
