Primary Responsibilities:
- Processing customer transactions, handling special orders, returns, and repairs through the computer.
- Answering telephones and efficiently assisting with customer questions.
- Sell merchandise in the store.
- General stocking and merchandising duties.
- Greet all customers promptly and courteously as they enter Golfdom.
- Direct customers throughout the store or to the specific area of expertise
- Give accurate and current information about the product for all inquiries.
- Increase the customer base by adding new customers to the mailing list.
- Maintain the feedback loop to buyers by filling out low inventory forms (SO forms).
- Understand the spirit of the returns policy.
- Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude and cooperate with your peers.
Merchandising and Maintenance
- Check stock daily to ensure that all products are adequately stocked and available for customers.
- All folded merchandise must be neat and well folded. Sizes should be arranged in order from smallest to largest.
- Featured merchandise should be prominently displayed in each section.
- Maintain store image by dressing in appropriate golf or professional dress.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized back stock area.
- Vacuum, sweep floors and empty all trash each day, if required.
Operations
- Report to work on time or notify in advance if absent or late
- Operate the cash register; it should be each employees goal to use the register without error and to be consistently accurate in money handling.
- Checking out anytime you must leave the building (including lunch breaks).
- Use correct procedures for processing special orders.
- Know the procedures for processing paperwork.
- Practice security measures that help prevent theft. Understand the procedures for handling shoplifters.
- Practice safety consciousness at all times.
- Be proactive in your ongoing education regarding the company, weekly reports, products, and the golf retail business.
- Set and achieve goals during each review period.
- Take advantage of the training opportunities that are offered.
Required Skills
- Maintain a positive, customer-centric attitude by listening, understanding and responding to customers needs while being committed to the Customer First philosophy.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with associates and customers.
- Thorough knowledge of processing information and merchandise via a computer and POS register system; ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
- Read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Freely roam all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area and register area by standing, walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, crouching, kneeling and climbing a ladder; ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds at any given time.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

The hourly rate for this position is $16.50 - $17.50 per hour. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
