About this role

This is a part time position for a Saturday and Sunday position. The hours can be either AM or PM. Call Krystal Simmons 336-756-7812 for more information.

Essential Functions:

- Demonstrates a positive and professional image that emulates the organizations mission statement and encourages a spirit of cooperation and teamwork with co-workers.

- Prepares/handles food in accordance with proper food handling techniques.

- Assists in preparing meals and snacks that are accurately assembled, including proper temperature, therapeutic diets, special items, regular and adaptive utensils, and delivered within established time frames.

- Ensures that food is stored in accordance with safe food handling standards. Complete documentation of proper holding temperatures for all refrigerated and frozen food storage areas.

- Ensures that food storage areas are clean and properly arranged at all times.

- Participates in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, including work stations, food storage areas, service and delivery equipment, floors, etc., in accordance with established practice.

- Ensures that all sanitizing solutions are maintained at proper dilution.

- Disposes of food waste in accordance with established practice.

- Washes service ware and dishware including operation of the dish machine and manual ware washing. Ensures that all clean service ware and dishware is properly stored.

- Complies with all Infection Control, Standard Precautions, and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals.

- Performs administrative duties as required, including processing diet order changes, generating labels or reports, identifying equipment or supply needs or issues.

- Participates in all department meetings and completes all required educational course work as indicated.

- Assures residents safety.

- Performs all or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications: One year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility or other healthcare setting preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to read and follow instructions.

- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.

- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.

- Ability to operate department specific equipment.

- Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required.

- Ability to respect residents including those who have impaired cognition.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
