The job:

As our Field Service Technician , you will play a critical role in bringing our control systems to life and ensuring they continue to perform reliably for our customers. This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing position that combines electrical and controls troubleshooting, system testing, commissioning, and field service. You will travel approximately 80% - 90% of the time , including overnight travel, with most trips lasting less than one week and home on weekends.

Before systems leave our facility, you will help test control panels and systems to verify proper operation and identify potential issues prior to shipment. Once equipment reaches the job site, you will support the start-up and commissioning of new projects , working through system functionality, identifying and resolving issues, and helping ensure equipment is operating as designed.

Your work will also include servicing our existing installed systems. You will troubleshoot electrical and control system issues, diagnose problems, perform repairs, and support system modifications and retrofits. This requires the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, understand control system operation, work safely with electrical systems up to 480V, and use strong problem-solving skills to determine the root cause of issues in the field.

Because much of your work takes place at customer locations, you will serve as an important representative of our company in the field. You will regularly interact with consulting engineers, contractors, end-users, and other equipment suppliers while commissioning and troubleshooting instruments, control panels, and related equipment. You will be expected to communicate clearly, work collaboratively with everyone involved in the project, and provide an exceptional customer experience from arrival through resolution.

The skills, education, and experience you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have experience with:

- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system drawings.

- Troubleshooting electrical and control systems in shop and field environments.

- Working safely with electrical systems up to 480V.

- Diagnosing technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.

- Starting up, commissioning, servicing, or repairing electrical and control systems.

- Working directly with customers, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

- Providing strong customer service and communicating technical information clearly and professionally.

- Working independently in the field while coordinating with internal technical and project teams.

A 2-year degree in Electronic Technology, Electrical Construction, Automation or other related field along with 3-5 years of experience is preferred.
