About this role

Morgan Corp. is seeking an experienced GPS Dozer Operator to join our field operations team. This position operates GPS-equipped dozers on heavy civil and site development projects, including demolition, earthwork, mass excavation, grading, and utility installation. The ideal candidate takes pride in safe, precise equipment operation; understands how to use GPS grade control to meet project specifications; and works well as part of a crew to help deliver high-quality work on schedule.

Work Environment:
This position works primarily outdoors on active construction sites and may involve exposure to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, noise, vibration, uneven terrain, and heavy equipment traffic. The GPS Dozer Operator must be able to work safely around crews, equipment, utilities, slopes, trenches, and changing site conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate GPS-equipped dozers to perform mass excavation, rough grading, finish grading, slope work, building pad preparation, pavement base grading, utility trench excavation, and backfill activities.
- Use GPS grade control systems to establish and maintain accurate elevations, slopes, lines, and grades in accordance with project plans, digital models, survey layout, and field direction.
- Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, cut/fill information, survey markings, and project specifications to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate daily with foremen, superintendents, survey crews, spotters, and other equipment operators to maintain production, quality, and safe work practices.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections, monitor equipment performance, report maintenance or repair needs promptly, and help keep assigned equipment clean and ready for use.
- Follow all company, client, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements, including participation in safety meetings and proper use of required PPE.
- Assist with general labor or other site-work activities when needed to support the crew and keep projects moving.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support field operations and project completion.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

- Previous experience operating dozers on heavy civil, site development, earthwork, grading, excavation, or utility construction projects is required.
- Experience using GPS machine control or grade control systems strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand grading concepts, elevations, slopes, tolerances, measurements, and basic construction math.
- Ability to read and work from site plans, survey layout, grade stakes, cut/fill information, and work plans.
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow company policies, site rules, and applicable safety regulations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with foremen, superintendents, crew members, and other employees.
- Dependable attendance, a positive attitude, and willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced field environment.
- Ability to complete basic equipment inspections, recognize changing jobsite conditions, and communicate potential issues promptly.
- Current driver’s license required.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- Ability to perform physical work as needed, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing on and off equipment, bending, standing, and walking on uneven terrain.
- Prior safety training, including trench shoring, rigging, confined space, first aid, or OSHA training, is preferred.
