JOB SUMMARY

Foreman will be responsible for the supervision of hourly unionized employees, preparing the team to operate safely while still focusing on the needs of our customers. Assist in meeting and exceeding processing goals on a daily basis. Maintain and perform small repairs on tools and equipment. Observe and report on safety to the Operations Manager. Ensure work areas are maintained and kept clean.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervise and operate heavy equipment used in loading/unloading of ferrous or nonferrous material.
- Support the variety of activities essential not limited to loaders, excavators/mobiles shear, material handler and other equipment use in yard operation.
- Supervise yard opertors and trade people during the daily yard operations
- Supervise and Perform preventative maintenance as required to all equipments
- Perform Torch cutting as required to the Ferrous materials.
- Perform repair as required to equipments
- Report every safety observation in the yard and correct it.
- Manage the work area housekeeping and ground maintance to the yard.
- Communicate using Hand held radio with yard employees to material purchase and yard safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- High School diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of leadership roles ( military, lead hand, supervisor or management experience)
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Mechanical or electrical tickets considered an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

- Ability to lead inside and outside workforce
- Ability to build and retain a strong team
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Automotive components is a definite asset
