Janitor I - SLC

JOB SUMMARY:

The Janitor I is responsible for performing basic cleaning duties throughout the factory to ensure a clean and safe work environment. This position requires minimal experience and provides training for cleaning tasks and maintaining the cleanliness of factory areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleans factory floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to ensure a clean and safe work area.

• Empties trash and recycling containers throughout the factory.

• Cleans production equipment and surrounding areas, ensuring clear pedestrian traffic paths.

• Maintains cleanliness of restrooms and common areas in the factory.

• Assists with the cleaning of production areas, including removing production waste and debris.

• Sweeps and clears walkways and production zones to prevent any obstructions.

• Notifies supervisor when cleaning supplies are running low.

• Assists with snow removal in factory entrances and walkways during winter months.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

• 0+ years of janitorial or related cleaning experience

• Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions

• Self-motivated and willing to learn new tasks

• Basic math skills for inventory tracking and simple measurements

• Ability to work in a factory environment with exposure to dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to work in a factory environment with exposure to dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals

• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment and power tools

• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to and including 75 pounds

• Ability to frequently push and/or pull objects weighing up to and including 75 pounds

• Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb and/or squat

• Ability to withstand exposure to extreme climate variations; exposure to heat and cold

• Ability to frequently stand/walk
