Full-Charge Bookkeeper

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, dependable, and comfortable handling the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

- Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions

- Record and reconcile bank and credit card transactions

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and deposits

- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations

- Maintain accurate general ledger records

- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

- Manage payroll and related payroll tax filings, as applicable

- Prepare sales tax and other required financial reports

- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records

- Supervise office staff responsible for: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Accounts
Receivable, Cash Collection, Loss Control, and Purchasing.

- Review job costs and overheads for corrective action

- Establish approval of procedures for capital expenditures and general purchase

- Assist with budgeting, cash-flow tracking, and financial analysis

- Coordinate with the CPA/tax accountant for year-end closing and tax preparation

- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly

- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

Qualifications

- 4+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or job costing accounting

- 3 + years of people management experience within an accounting or finance department

- Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle

- QuickBooks proficiency is preferred

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Experience with payroll, sales tax, and financial reporting preferred

- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, V lookups, H lookups, VBA, and Macros, etc.)

- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required

- CPA designation preferred
