DFI Retail Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our Group Insights team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting data-driven decision-making across our retail operations (spanning brands like Welcomed, Mannings, 7-Eleven, and IKEA). You will assist with supplier performance reviews, analyze commercial and sales trends, prepare executive-ready reports, and help assemble actionable sales enablement materials for internal business partners.
This internship offers hands-on experience in FMCG and retail analytics, providing direct exposure to large-scale retail datasets and commercial strategy execution.

The challenge is to:
- Data Analysis & Supplier Reviews Supportsales and inventory datareport running and analyses
- Support regular supplier performance evaluations, tracking metrics such as fill rates, margin contributions, sales growth, and promotion effectiveness.
- Assistinidentifyingcommercial trends, stock anomalies, and growth opportunities within key supplier portfolios.
- Reporting & Dashboards Prepare routine and ad-hoc analytical reports, summaries, and scorecards for commercial managers and executive stakeholders.
- Assistinmaintainingand updating internal dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to track performance metrics.
- Sales Materials & Commercial Support Organize, format, and synthesize key insights into slide decks, category toolkits, and sales briefing materials for supplier meetings and business reviews.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Category Management, Sourcing, and Marketing) to align reporting standards and data sources.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in BusinessAnalytics, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP; Power Query is a plus).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) is highly preferred.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft PowerPoint for translating raw data into visually clear presentations.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
- Good communicationskills to summarize technical findings into clear, actionable commercial insights.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Language: Fluent in spoken and written English;proficiencyin Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
