Senior Estimator – Civil Construction
Lead the numbers. Shape the work.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team and take the lead on complex civil infrastructure tenders.
This is more than pricing a job. You’ll bring together estimating, operations, suppliers and subcontractors to develop smart, buildable and commercially sound solutions — helping Isaac win the right work at the right margins .
What you’ll be doing
- Lead major civil estimates from first review through to tender submission
- Develop pricing strategies, methodologies, programmes and resourcing plans
- Review quantities, production rates, supplier/subcontractor pricing and project risks
- Work closely with operational and bid teams to find winning solutions
- Build strong relationships across the supply chain and secure competitive pricing
- Present estimates, risks and recommendations at internal reviews
- Support project teams through tender handover and selected commercial/variation work
- Share your knowledge and help develop the capability of our estimating team
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with 10+ years’ estimating experience in civil construction or infrastructure, with a strong understanding of construction methodologies, productivity, procurement and risk.
Three Waters experience would be a big advantage , along with knowledge of New Zealand construction contracts, including NZS 3910 .
You’ll be commercially astute, analytical and confident challenging assumptions — but just as importantly, you’ll be practical, collaborative and calm under pressure when the tender deadline is looming.
Experience with Candy estimating software is preferred.
