Position: Beverage Specialist
Reports to: General Manager of Food and Beverage Operations
Status: Hourly nonexempt (tipped)
JOB SUMMARY:
As a beverage specialist, you will be expected to provide first class service. Our visitors experience is your top priority. Your passion for coffee, wine, beer, and cocktails, creating precise drinks and your knowledge of menu items will afford you the opportunity to delight all visitors. Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
- Listen, and provide friendly, fast service as you go through a tailored order-creating approach.
- Make relevant beverage and food recommendations when necessary, ensuring an engaging experience with the customers that connects them with the right food and beverage products to meet their needs.
- Create an atmosphere that is welcoming to all customers by having a stocked grab & go case and fresh, neatly displayed merchandise.
- Take pride in your workspace and place a priority on ensuring a clean and tidy environment knowing that cleanliness encompasses all aspects of the visitor experience.
- Minimal assembly of small plates and grab and go items.
- Execute all operational standards correctly, in a timely manner and in accordance with established standards, safety and health codes.
- Protect company assets by adhering to all processes and working efficiently to control waste and shrinkage. Recognize and offer to help both customers and employees with urgency and care.
- This work requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, operating espresso machines, changing kegs), and on-floor service when needed.
- Completes open and closing checklists to ensure a successful setup and breakdown of the space for the shift.
- Keeping track of all transactions, methods of payment, completes transactions, and dispenses the accurate change when necessary.
- Countdown drawer at end of shift and submit deposit and receipts for interdepartmental transactions to the MOD.
- Collaborates with staff to fulfill the morning coffee program.
- Prepares hot and cold beverages for guests and ensures that the grab and go food display is stocked and all is clean, before, during, and after shift.
- Provides helpful and friendly service to all.
- Keeps track of In- House Account transactions via POS.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of checkout area; keeps receipt paper and other necessary stationery stocked.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- At least two years of barista or bartending experience preferred but not required.
- Availability Friday through Sunday preferred.
- Previous cash handling experience.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Basic math skills; ability to accurately count change and balance cash register at start and end of shift.
- Positive attitude.
- Enjoys working with people.
- Well-organized, efficient, and able to multi-task.
- Can clearly and respectfully communicate.
- Open to making menu recommendations and engaging with others.
- Exhibits and demonstrates initiative.

Salary: $16.09/hour plus tips
