Job Summary

Work under the direction of the Mechanical Supervisor/Engineer to execute preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities, including annual outages and equipment overhauls, with strict adherence to safety requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Comply with all applicable safety rules and regulations.

- Perform plant maintenance activities in a timely and safe manner, strictly following applicable maintenance procedures and work instructions. Document equipment maintenance concerns and history.

- Report spare parts and consumable requirements to the Mechanical Supervisor and support monitoring of spare availability to meet maintenance requirements.

- Ensure proper equipment isolation before starting maintenance activities, in coordination with the Mechanical Supervisor and local operator.

- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems and perform required maintenance within the assigned area.

- Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair various static and rotating mechanical equipment used in Power and Desalination Plants.

- Ensure proper care and safe use of tools, lifting equipment, and other devices required to perform assigned maintenance activities.

- Carry out all necessary preparations required for mechanical maintenance of assigned equipment and areas.

- Maintain a good working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.

- Maintain 5S housekeeping standards within the assigned work area.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Educational

Desired

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; OR

- Minimum 4 years of experience as Skilled Mechanical Labor in NOMAC plants.

Preferred

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

Minimum Experience

Minimum

- 4 years of experience in the same position; OR

- Minimum 4 years of experience as Skilled Mechanical Labor in NOMAC plants.

Preferable

- Extensive experience as a Mechanical Technician in Conventional, Combined Cycle, Cogeneration, Water Desalination Plants (RO, MSF, MED, etc.), and/or Renewable Energy Plants such as Solar and Wind.

Required Skills

- General awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System principles.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while completing assigned objectives efficiently and responsibly.

- Ability and willingness to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces, working at heights, and areas involving chemicals.

- Knowledge and application of safe work practices, including respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fire protection systems, electrical safety, forklift/hoist operations, welding, cutting, brazing, confined-space entry, and PPE requirements.

- Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal.

- Knowledge of the environmental and health impacts of chemicals used in the plant.

- Knowledge of firefighting equipment.

- Knowledge of first-aid measures.

- Basic knowledge of Power/Water Plant operational activities.

- Basic computer skills.

Desired Certification / Job Specific Skill / Training

- ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
