Job Summary
Under supervision, perform a variety of shipping, receiving, and stocking activities; store and distribute supplies and equipment; maintain inventory and stock records; and perform related work as required.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain plant inventory and supplies, including ordering, receiving, and allocation.
- Prepare annual requisitions, orders, reports, and correspondence.
- Receive and inspect all incoming materials and reconcile them against purchase orders. Process and distribute related documentation and report, document, and track any damage or discrepancies in received orders.
- Record daily incoming and outgoing plant stock.
- Report cancelled and damaged items to the Purchasing Department as appropriate.
- Handle and document the storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
- Ensure proper identification, segregation, and preservation of stored materials.
- Maintain the warehouse, records area, and storage areas in a neat and orderly condition.
- Ensure proper segregation of waste for disposal.
- Inform relevant personnel of material arrivals and arrange for inspection.
- Respond to queries regarding procedures and resolve discrepancies related to receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus property.
- Arrange the return of non-conforming materials.
- Issue materials as required and maintain appropriate records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Educational
Desired
- Diploma in a related field.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum Experience (Type and Duration)
Minimum
- 3 years of experience in the same or similar function.
Preferable
- 6 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills
- Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System principles.
- Knowledge of the environmental and health impacts of chemicals stored in the warehouse.
- Knowledge of the identification, handling, storage, and disposal of waste and expired chemicals.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Hazard Risk Assessment knowledge.
- Aspect Impact Assessment knowledge.
Desired Certification / Job Specific Skill / Training
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
