Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Energy Broking team, part of our risk business at Marsh. This role will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Vice President, Energy Broking will maintain and expand book of businesses comprising larger or nuanced accounts, with a focus on complex specialty lines and large corporate accounts. The role will develop client-focused sales strategies, deliver custom product solutions, and strengthen relationships across the energy insurance market and internal teams.
We will count on you to:
- Maintain and expand book of businesses, including larger or nuanced accounts across relevant industries and specialties.
- Develop sales strategies for managed accounts based on client needs, market trends, and internal product or service offerings.
- Lead market and industry research to identify relationship needs, target new buyer hubs, and expand the team’s and personal book of business.
- Deliver competitive proposal work and project plans by consolidating market data, account needs, timelines, and delivery expectations.
- Create feasible and effective custom product solutions for new and existing accounts while ensuring pricing and policy compliance.
- Address escalated issues promptly, maintain positive client relationships, and deliver against agreed timelines and outcomes.
- Build relationships and professional networks within client organizations, international insurance and reinsurance markets, and among underwriters.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- 10–15 years’ experience in the commercial insurance industry, preferably in insurance broking, with strong experience in complex specialty lines and/or large corporate accounts, particularly in the upstream and downstream oil & gas sector.
- Demonstrated success in client leadership, driving commercial growth, winning large accounts, and expanding portfolio profitability.
- Proven experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams, including matrix management across regional or global offices.

- Professional insurance qualifications and/or local broker certifications, such as ACII, ANZIIF, or CIIB.
