Master Machining is seeking an experienced and dependable Shipping & Receiving Lead to join our team at our Castle Hayne, NC facility.

This position will work directly under the Shipping Manager and serve as a key member of the Shipping and Receiving Department. The Shipping & Receiving Lead will assist with the day-to-day operations of the department, help coordinate shipping and receiving activities, and work alongside other employees to ensure incoming and outgoing materials are handled accurately and efficiently.

This is a hands-on position for someone with strong shipping and receiving experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to help keep the department running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the Shipping Manager with the daily operations of the Shipping and Receiving Department.

- Coordinate and assist with incoming and outgoing shipments.

- Work alongside shipping and receiving employees to complete daily department responsibilities.

- Receive incoming materials, parts, supplies, and other deliveries.

- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation.

- Identify and report shortages, damages, discrepancies, or incorrect shipments.

- Prepare finished parts and other materials for shipment to customers and vendors.

- Properly package, label, and prepare shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.

- Complete and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.

- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with freight carriers and other transportation providers as needed.

- Help prioritize daily shipping and receiving needs to ensure deadlines are met.

- Assist the Shipping Manager with organizing workflow and communicating department priorities to employees.

- Maintain accurate inventory and material locations as required.

- Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Shipping and Receiving Department.

- Communicate with other departments regarding incoming materials, completed orders, shipment status, and other shipping or receiving needs.

- Assist with resolving shipping and receiving discrepancies.

- Help ensure department procedures and company standards are followed.

- Step in to assist with department responsibilities when the Shipping Manager is unavailable.

- Perform additional shipping, receiving, packaging, and material-handling duties as needed.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years of shipping experience required.

- Minimum 2 years of receiving experience required.

- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, machining, warehouse, or similar environment strongly preferred.

- Previous lead or supervisory experience is a plus.

- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes and documentation.

- Ability to read and verify purchase orders, packing slips, shipping documents, and related paperwork.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adjust to changing production and shipping needs.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

- Dependable with a strong work ethic and good attendance.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.

- Forklift and material-handling experience preferred.
