Overview

FULL STACK DEVELOPER (RDTE)

Bowhead is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. The Full Stack Support will assist with the entire hardware/software lifecycle, including planning and deployment.

Responsibilities

- Application Development: Build, enhance, and maintain high-quality application code and automated tests, including unit, functional, performance, and acceptance tests, for web interfaces that integrate analytics and reporting capabilities.

- Software Development: Apply working knowledge of Python (Flask), JavaScript (Vue.js), Java (Spring Boot), and/or other application development languages such as .NET. Support containerized development workflows using Docker.

- Database Support: Demonstrate a basic understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle databases in support of application development and troubleshooting.

- Systems Administration: Perform basic Linux system support and scripting tasks using Linux and Bash.

- Troubleshooting and Support: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application and environment-related issues, including customer-facing support when required.

- Technical Collaboration: Serve as a great team player,technical contributor and consultant to internal and external stakeholders, supporting development, integration, testing, and deployment activities.

- Agile Delivery Support: Operate effectively in a fast-paced Agile development environment, including participation in 2-week sprint cycles, daily stand-ups, sprint grooming, and sprint planning sessions.

Qualifications

- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Three to five (3–5) years of relevant professional experience.

- Experience resolving customer issues, including support within cloud-based environments.

- Ability to serve as a technical consultant for internal and external stakeholders.

- Proficiency in developing and testing web applications that integrate analytics and reporting capabilities.

- Experience using GitLab for version control and CI/CD workflows.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Customer-facing experience.

- Experience with JavaScript development.

- Ability to validate code correctness and deliver stable, low-defect changes.

- Experience working in an Agile environment, including participation in daily stand-ups, sprint grooming/refinement, and sprint planning sessions.

- Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as Adobe Acrobat).

Preferred Skills

- Experience diagnosing and resolving customer issues across Azure and AWS environments, using investigation and monitoring tools to improve support effectiveness and productivity.

- Basic understanding of Helm, Argo CD, CI/CD, GitLab, GitLab Runner, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and Vault.

- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or applied project experience.

- Knowledge of core web technologies, including Vue.js and HTML.

- Basic understanding of GitLab CI/CD structure and pipeline execution.

- Familiarity with IaaS, virtualization, hybrid/on-prem cloud environments, identity and security systems, monitoring/logging, and storage platforms.

- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, VLANs, peering, and load balancing.

- Experience with GitLab/ any other Version Control tool, and Docker.

Targeted salary range is $95,000 to $120,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Physical Demands:

- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds or more

- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance at the Top Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
