Discover the Role

This position supports the Accounting & Tax team with complex tasks, ensuring TMF’s clients are provided with efficient, professional, and high-quality services that meet all statutory obligations across bookkeeping. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate setup of transactions in the Accounting system and reviewing drafts prepared by Accounting Specialists. You will also be responsible for answering basic queries from clients and working in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the successful delivery of accounting services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparation & review of all primary accounting documents according to local compliance regulations and reports required by clients, e.g. group reporting packages
- Act as a day-to-day contact for clients; responsible for meeting respective deadlines
- Preparation of the monthly tax and payroll returns, by indicated deadlines
- Execute primary documents in accordance with accounting for fixed assets, inventory items, settlements with customers, and payroll
- Accurate booking of all journal entries and accounting documents into the general ledger for allocated clients (depreciation, prepayments, re-evaluations)
- Review accounting entries processed by other team members. Process other entries, such as accruals, depreciation, re-evaluations, and any other items needed for a complete financial closure
- Assist in the maintenance of the chart of accounts, sub-ledger accounts and other accounting elements
- Maintain contact with auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, notaries and other involved parties to obtain information needed for reporting purposes
- Contribute to the successful onboarding of new clients, ensuring deadlines are met
- Adhere to TMF internal procedures and ensure compliance with TMF’s Risk and Control framework and processes. This includes ensuring the 4-eye principle is always followed.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate is analytical and methodical with experience as an accounting specialist. Possesses deep knowledge of accounting & tax regulations coupled with exemplary people skills. Integrity, team spirit, and strong organizational skills are highly valued attributes.

Ideally, you meet the following hiring criteria:

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting;
- A degree in Accountancy, Business, or a closely related field is desirable
- 5 years of work experience in an Accounting firm is preferred
- Part / full Accounting qualification is preferred
- Resourceful, independent and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and communication skills, with strong ability to plan and organize
- Analytical structured mindset with ability to follow and build upon existing processes and ensure data is maintained with accuracy and consistency
- Fluency in English is essential, with knowledge of other languages an advantage

Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word is essential, with experience of Hyper Accounting and Pylon Accounting desirable
