Clerk of Works

Your role will include conducting interim site inspections on behalf of the managing Surveyor, to inspect ongoing works on insurance reinstatement projects for quality control, compliance, measurement and cost tracking purposes. You will also provide professional surveying services from your home office supporting the managing Surveyor with aspects such as production of meeting minutes, interim valuations, certification, and general project assistance.

You will be a key stakeholder in delivering projects on time, on budget, with a happy customer, and will be joining an industry leader with scope for significant career development.

Role Purpose

The Clerk of Works supports the delivery of high-quality construction and insurance reinstatement projects by providing on-site inspection, and compliance monitoring, as well as assisting with surveying and cost management activities. The role bridges technical oversight with office-based surveying tasks to ensure projects meet design specifications, statutory requirements, and quality standards.

Essential -

- Basic knowledge of building regulations, construction processes, and surveying methods.

- Full UK driving licence.

- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to property sites and other locations as required,

- across the designated region.

Desirable -

- Site-based experience preferred but not essential.

- Working towards (or commitment to work towards) a relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.

- Membership of, or progress towards membership of, the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI).

- Competent in Microsoft Office and familiarity with scheduling software (Symbility, Xact) an advantage.
